Aviation Coaching FAQs – Support, Confidentiality & Goals
-
What is coaching, and how can it help me?
Coaching is a collaborative, forward-focused process that helps you build self-awareness, regulate stress, and develop practical coping tools. Unlike therapy, which may delve into clinical diagnoses or past trauma, coaching centres on your current challenges and desired outcomes.
It’s ideal for aviation professionals looking to improve performance, manage stress, or prevent burnout.
-
Do you only coach the Aviation Industry?
No! My coaching is for anyone inside or outside the aviation industry.
Whether you're dealing with decision fatigue, disrupted sleep, or personal life stressors, coaching offers structured, confidential support tailored to your environment
-
I’m not “struggling”, but I do feel off balance - would coaching still help?
Absolutely. Coaching isn’t just for crisis moments - it’s also preventative.
If you feel like you’re running on autopilot, losing motivation, or having trouble switching off after shifts, coaching can help you reset, reconnect with your values, and find more balance both in and out of uniform.
-
I provide:
One-on-One Coaching – Personalised, confidential sessions tailored to your recovery goals.
Online Support – Flexible virtual coaching for those who prefer remote sessions.
-
There is no one size fits all approach. Some people find that after a couple of sessions their motivation and mindset vastly improves.
However, it can take longer to embed these changes, it really depends on the person and their goals.
-
Topics are bespoke according to needs but can include:
Managing stress and anxiety
Substance Misuse support
Building emotional resilience
Navigating conflict or communication issues
Career transitions or leadership development
Reconnecting with your sense of purpose

Yes — while coaching isn’t a replacement for clinical treatment, it can be a powerful support tool if you’re questioning your relationship with alcohol, medication, or recreational substances.
As someone who understands the unique pressures of aviation, I offer a confidential, non-judgemental space to explore what’s going on and what you might want to change.
We can work together to build healthier coping strategies, improve resilience, and (when needed) connect you to more specialist support. You don’t need a diagnosis to reach out - if something feels off, that’s enough.
-
There is the option for ongoing support, where we do a fortnightly or monthly check in and chat about goals, growth and progress. Take a look at the Services Page for more information.
-
Is coaching confidential?
Yes, all coaching sessions are completely confidential. The only exceptions are legal or safeguarding obligations, such as if there is a risk of harm to yourself or others. Your privacy, trust and growth are my top priorities.
-
How do I get started?
You can book an initial consultation to discuss your needs and determine if coaching is the right fit for you.
Simply contact me to schedule your first session.
-
Where does coaching take place?
Due to the roaming nature of the industry most sessions are online or over the phone.
However if it is possible to do face-to-face then we will do (Gloucestershire based).
